Great news Caz, so pleased for you and him. Why not just throw into the conversation that he has made you proud. Or let him overhear you telling the other children how proud you are because he has worked hard. Ann Glos

That's great Caz - so pleased for him and you. You can still tell him you are proud of him even if he won't let you near him! He might not want to acknowledge what you say but I'm sure deep down it will have some effect. Perhaps you could cook him his favourite meal or something to celebrate his success - I'm sure he won't want lots of fuss but a little something like that may just show him how pleased you are and how special his success is to you and hte rest of the family. What good news! Things do get better! :-) I once tried this with a young male relative who was 'too cool' to hug - when no-one else was around I asked if he would just help me out by letting me hug him, that it would make me feel better. He grudgingly agreed, but so sooner had I put my arms round him than he gave me a great bear hug and the biggest smile. He quickly returned to his 'too cool' way of being in public, but that was ok. :-) It might be worth a try.

Caz, that is great news. Some day he will let you hug him again, at the moment its just not 'cool'. I'm sure he knows how proud you are of him.

Some may remember I have had big problems with my 16 year old well..... He has been on an out of school cirriculum for 6 months and is doing 3 gcses in a small class, Rest of time he is working in a garden centre doin NVQ 3 in horticulture, only 16 year old in Cumbria, he is doing so well, works like a trojan, they are giving him a full time job next year, I've been to hell and back with his behaviour but now i am proud, wish hed let me hug him to tell him his Mum is so proud, Thanks for listening, Caz xxxxxxx
