Daughter has my old computer in her bedroom. She entered the WEP codes and I got a message down here on my computer saying System Error.....and summat about conflicting IP addresses

Well, I'm not really a PC expert, but I have done this before, at home... are you setting up a new network, or adding a machine to an existing one ?

sounds like you need to make sure that all the devices connecting to the wireless router are setup to use DHCP to get their IP address, rather than having one hard coded..
