Is 'Nancy' short for anything?

I think it must get confusing for them when there is so many people in the house with the same name. Henry/Nancy's Grandad was Charles, so was his Dad, and so was his Brother, and they all lived in the same house. It must have been confusing.

I can only think of the Amazon Pirates in Swallows and Amazons where Nancy was Ruth and Peggy was Margaret.

paul its a name in its own right but my gt grandfathers 2nd wife was called nancy and her birth name was agnes! try variations of that!

I cant seem to find the birth record of a Nancy Gibbs, and thought it might be a shortened form of something.
