Hadn't a clue what to get hubbie for Christmas and then - kerching!!!!!!! found a really good deal at a local shop, Stratocaster-lookalikey (?) electric guitar, plus amp + electronic tuner + guitar case + guitar stand + 3 plectrums + DVD instructions etc all for the princely sum of £99.00 Mentioned it in passing to OH just before dinner, and he is all for it! Now.............what I want to know is..................good idea or bad? will I live to regret this? I should mention that he cannot at present play the guitar!! Jac the Drac |

Paul - I do value peace and quiet, and actually the village hall is not too expensive to hire - lol Ultimately I also know where the fuse box is! I have a wierd feeling about this...........I really have! Jac |

I'm in the fortunate position that my husband can play anything that makes a noise, but I'd still say Go Ahead! Even if he never plays well, making music is something that may well give your husband great pleasure and if it's really unbearable, he can always do it when you're busy doing other things! :-) If he has a lot of fun doing it he will be grateful forever and if he doesn't it will soon gather dust. A couple of pounds for a pair of earplugs might not come amiss in the beginning though!!! :-) |

Jacqueline Its a great idea just buy some earphones that you can plug into the amp! it will keep him amused for hours even if he never gets to play a tune! |

My hubby has one electric and one normal guitar and a harmonica no peace in this house he has even been playing before he goes to work. If hubby is a quick learner might be ok you could always send him to the garage or shed |

£1,500 should get him a Real Strat, plus 100w Marshall Head and Cab. Let him have a look at www.gak*co.uk if you dare, that is |
