Do you often still get tears in your eye's thinking about them??? I had a farming Border Collie called 'Patch'. My mum and dad gave him to me for my 11th birthday and he was a tiny ball of fur with a little poem on his collar saying that he will be my best friend and loyal to me..... He was my best friend and I used to come riding with me and my pony through the lanes and fields, i taught him all the agility courses and he picked things up so quickly and enjoyed it so much, he roamed freely on my parents land with the other dogs, but whenever I came outside he was always waiting for me and would sit with me on the bench outside why I would look up at the stars at night. He lived to a ripe old 14 years of age and I had to make the dreaded decision to have him put down. He has pressure pressing on his spinal cord and his back legs kept going, the vets said he was in pain, and as much as I wanted him with me still, I had to do make the decision. He was put down on 23rd June 2004 at 2.15pm I have been thinking about him alot recently remembering how special a pet he really was, he was my childhood afterall and my will always be my best friend and beloved pet, no pet has even come near still to this day to what my Patchy meant to me. Tara,I think about my little furry baby everyday, I cry often about her. she died Jan11th 2006,I miss her so much she was a very special cat.

aww tara,i think most people can relate to you,an animal be it dog cat whatever is so inocent and loyal.as we depend on them ,they depend on us,they never ask for a favour in return for there kindness.just lots of tlc.and when they pass away its hard for us to fill those gaps.thinking about ya hun,xxxxxxxxxxjoy

Awwwww Roxanne....Well if you feel a light brush/tingle across your feet/ankles you will no who it is. When Patch passed over the very next day I had an Admiral butterfly appear on one of my hanging baskets in the garden. It was beautiful. Then last week when I see patches picture when I was feeling down, it cheered me up. I shortly afterwards went outside to the garden and there on the same basket was an Admiral butterfly. Then the next day when i awoke and went outside in the garden again for some fresh air an Admiral butterfly flew down right in front of me and landed on one of my dog's squeaky toys it fluttered there for a minute or so and then flew closer and it was soo beautiful, it stayed a couple of minutes then flew off!! I havent seen it since, maybe I will again now im thinking of him again.

hi Tara, i lost my dog in 2001 her name was betsey she was all black she was a lab cross she was beautiful. loyal, trusting, faithful. i love dogs, but i just cant bring my self to have another one hazelx

Hi tara,Yep,I get that feeling often,I also hear her special meaow sometimes. I reared her from a kitten, I had to bottle feed her,so she really did think of me as her mum. She would nussle my neck,like a kitten does to its mother, that was her way of getting me up in a morning to feed herlol they really do take our hearts dont they. Roxanne x

I can understand that Hazel....I have two jack russels now, im a sucker for rehoming animals. They most def do Roxanne.

A little over two weeks ago I lost my Darling 'Tabitha Prynne' She was 24 Yrs old,The loveliest little Tabby Cat you could ever want.It breaks my heart whenever I think of her,which is daily.She came and died on my bed while I was stroking her.I will always miss her,She is now buried under the Willow tree at the top of my garden with her Brother who went 4 yrs ago. Hal.

we had to put down our Pip, a Whestie 12 years ago............ I cried about her only the other nite. and i am a bloke!!! Gerry :-))

Well I like to say......here is a little place to show and talk about your beloved pets, of all shapes and sizes and quirky little characters that we loved so much...... If only the world out there had as much love and compassion for animals as we all do and have done and are doing, after-all its their planet too, we are merely sharing it with them.

I lost my collie, she was 11 years old and was around before I met OH and had my children. I had a similar experience with a blue butterfly, but it landed on each member of the family and stayed around us for ages. I like to believe it was her way of saying goodbye to us. xx
