I gets better Brian, they have to go through this phase of being a sleeping grunting duvet! I found if I ignored mine and got on with our lives, he soon picked up, even if it was for short spells lol. One day he met his future wife and became a decent responsible citizen over night.

You are sure not! my son left home at 17 for all the reasons you have said. I havent seen him in a year, breaks my heart but he knows best or so he thinks and I just hope one day he comes to his senses. If only they could understand what they put us through.

I thought that was a parents duty Julie! You have to embarrass your kids at least once!

Brian, we have the female, year younger version of your son at the moment! As a mother I feel terrible saying it, but last week when she was away for several days, the house was peaceful, tidy (we also have a younger son) and no 'atmosphere'. Over the past couple of months she's been a right horror at times. Also, we adopted her at 9 years of age, so sometimes we have to be careful what we say to her - aargh! *sympathy to Brian and Mrs Brian*

I had that twofold...I have twin sons and they have now reached 19 years of age and are great. I hated them between 16 and 18 and could cheerfully have murdered them. Their sister, who is 17 months older, was an absolute cow from the age of 15 to 18. She's lovely now. They do grow out of it in time but it is really hard whilst they are going through it. Viv

*shows Brian her full head of hair* I suppose it can't be that bad; much as we've been tearing our hair out at times, we're not bald yet! lol It's reassuring, though, to hear from other parents of teenagers that they've been there, done it, got the tee-shirt and come out the other side! lol :-)

It will get better Brian...I, too, have twin boys, aged 20 who are both lovely - now. At 17 though, Kevin and Perry, eat your heart out! daughter, 22, lovely. Two more daughters 15 and 14 just entering the horrid stage. LOL Tina x
