re ' Under the bonnet' on todays cars unless its only top up oil and water, and fuel, maybe change plugs...if anything goes wrong, I dont think that there is much the ordinary person can do to fix it, is there? Bob

Two goes, cos I was so nervous, I was about 22 and didn't have a car or drive again for a couple or more years, but finally was given permanent loan of a Morris 1000 (alright, yes I am old!!) It wasn't bad but the heater didn't work so had to wear a thick coat in winter. Traded it in for another Morris 1000 which died on me about 2 years later, then had an Avenger which is still sitting in the garage, don't ask! Had a gap of about 8 years before I drove again and now drive a newish Fiesta, which belongs to o.h. but I have most use out of it, he uses an old Sierra to get to work and back. Trouble is, he can't see to drive in the dark so I have to do all the night driving, which considering he is supposed to be my toyboy, makes me think I have got something wrong somehow!
