I always swtich my PC off and unplug during a storm. Even though I have surge protectors, I still lost a PC during a storm because of a power surge caused by lightening nearby. |

ALL electrical equipment is vulnerable to surges in power down the mains line and the phone lines during a thunderstorm. You are leaving yourself open to getting zapped if you stay connected. It's not enough to switch off. To be totally safe you should disconnect at the mains plug and also disconnect your modem / router from the phone socket too. We lost a PC in a storm that was switched off but not disconnected :~( Best of luck XXX Sioux |
