1 lb of flour (s.r.) 1lb of brown sugar 1 lb. of margerine 8 eggs 6 bananas couple of spoons of bicarb. Mix everything together and cook in bread tins on number 5 , but cannot remember for how long, but after half an hour, check, if not cooked cover with foil to prevent the top burning. Irish cake-lush 3 cups of mixed fruit 3 cups of flour 3 cups brown sugar 3 cups cold tea 1lb margerine not forgetting the bicard mix all together and cook, covering if top, looks like getting over brown. Add a big dollop of honey or treaqcle for axtra special flavour. My books are in the car, I will search them out for you. |

Sue, Try this website........ http://allrecipes.com/recipe/banana-banana-bread/detail.aspx It is an American website but you can change the measurements from US to Metric with the click of a button. I have not tried this particular recipe though, but how bad can Banana Bread be? Let me know how it works out! |

Does anyone have a recipe for Banana Bread or Cake please? I had one I used years ago, but now I have 4 really ripe bananas (too ripe to eat) - VERY unusual in this house - I can't find it! I have googled, but there are so many recipes! Anyone got a tried & tested recipe I can use? No nuts though as grandaughter is allergic and has to taste all my cakes! Have to go out for a while, but I'll be back later. Thanks Sue xx |
