Hi Claire Infacol can be used from birth, but gripe water, I think, they have to be a month old. If you use the infacol religiously before a feed, it works a treat. Good luck to your daughter. Suzy |

My son had it badly for the first 3 months - really feel for you, it's awful. A warm bath used to relax him a little - he spent ages in the water, and after that, I used to lie him face down on my knee, that seemed to help too. Hope it goes soon. Sharon xx |

My son had it very badly for the first few weeks. I used to lie him face down on my knee and gently rub his back. A warm bath make sure the water goes over their tummy also helped. |

My youngest had terrible colic, Infacol didn't work, Colief (sp?) eased it a little. I did eventually change the brand of milk I gave her and that made the biggest difference, although I know that health visitors frown upon it. I would advise your daughter to contact her health visitor, and see what they suggest. |

I turned my baby upside down for second and turned back up to proper position and brought wind up so try it |

Another thought if the baby is being bottle fed maybe the hole is not big enough in the teet in the bottle. Sometimes if they are not getting the milk fast enough they take in too much air. |

claire is your daughter feeding him on sma? if so then thats probably whats causing it. try changing his milk. sma is so rich.my daughter had to change from sma because of the same reason.she used cow and gate and the colic vanished almost over night. susie |

Many thanks everyone,,I will pass all advice onto Gayle when i speak to her later, The health visitor is going this afternoon so maybe she will have something to say. I never knew that about SMA,,I will certainly tell her about it being so rich, |
