Cave drawings are open to interpretation. There is rarely one simple explanation. I'd rather listen to qualified archaeologists who don't earn that much than a convicted fraudster making a fortune out of faking evidence.. Gwynne

Even TV programmes put a spin on things to suit themselves though. In ancient times there were ways of doing things that are incomprehensible today, and whos to say astronauts were not the answer? Also the caves drawings, it is logical to suppose that people drew what they saw.

Look what google found- Von Däniken used photographs of pottery depicting UFOs, claiming that the pottery came from an archaeological dig and dated to biblical times. The television series Nova determined that this was a fraud and located the potter who actually made those pots. When confronted with this evidence, Von Däniken argued that the deception was justified because some people would only believe his theories if they saw proof. In 1967, at the age of 32, Von Däniken was convicted of large scale embezzlement, forgery and tax evasion, and spent three and half years in prison. During his time in prison he wrote his second book, Gods from Outer Space. Hmmmm. Gwynne

I'm pretty sure there was a program debunking a lot of what he said in the book. A lot og the things that he interpreted one way, could alos be interpreted others.

I read it over 30 years ago, I think there is a lot there that makes sense too.

There was another very good one called The Space Ships of Ezekiel. It also gave an account of how a NASA scientist designed a vehicle as described by Ezekiel with wheels within wheels etc.

OK the author may not be one to trust but the idea of space/time travellers is a lot more logical to me than the normal idea.

I read it ages ago and thought it was a bit far fetched. I still think so, especially after reading books and articles debunking the author. Some of the 'proof' he showed in the way of photos isn't so convincing when you see the entire thing, not just the bit he showed. Gwynne

That's the one - subtitled 'Was God an Astronaut?' There are photos in the book of markings on the earth that when seen from high above resemble landing points for aircraft etc. These markings are hundreds of years old (if not thousands)

Is it by Erik von Daniken? if so, yes it did change my thinking, so much so, I don't feel like going to church anymore.

Have you read the book. Has it changed your way of thing? Not being a religious person it makes a whole lot of sense to me.
