My computer sometimes says 'This computer has performed an illegal operation and will be closing down'. It is always when I am doing something I have done a million times before so I dont know what it means. The first time I saw it I was listening for the cop cars coming to get me!! (Well not really). |

There could be a few possible reasons for this happening. You could try, first, to correct, updating your Internet Explorer (a process of elimination.) Visit the Microsoft Update Site: 1. Click on START. 2. Click on CONTROL PANEL. 3. Click, on the left of the screen, WINDOWS UPDATE. When you get to the site click on CUSTOM and one of the updates is for Internet Explorer.....can't hurt to do all the CUSTOM updates as well as DRIVERS that are suggested. All the updates under CRITICAL should be done as well. YOu may have to visit the site several times to complete all the updates. If you're PC is set to do automatic updates from this site, you may not be aware the auto updates include only the CRITICAL updates....the Custom and Driver updates have to be done manually by visiting the site.
