Fred, so sorry to hear what you and your dad went through - it must have been so hard to deal with. Give your dad a hug from me for bringing you up on his own, too. In some areas, young people who crash their cars are taken to see bodies in mortuaries etc and Police are going into schools and showing youngsters what it is like via films etc to have friends injured or killed, so hopefully for some people the message will get through. Glad your daughter and baby and friend, are safe but a big shock for them. I had an idiotic woman driver (sorry girls, but can't support all women drivers) drove across my path when I was in the correct lane going round a roundabout, she drove straight into my driver's door when I was in it, 8 and a half month's pregnant. I could see what was going to happen but altho I tried to speed up so she missed me she still kept coming, even tho I was sounding my horn and all, she said 'Oh I didn't notice you'. Her hubby soon coughed up the cost of another door etc without us going through the insurance, cos I said I would get in touch with the police. (24 years ago). Take care, and don't drink and drive at all, not worth the risk. Liz |

I do hope they are ok after their ordeal. The problem with drunks driving is that it is nigh on impossible to prove in a court of law that their inebriated condition actually caused the accident. This is why they are usually only convicted of the drink offence. Other than increasing the penalties for being caught I don't know the answer. |

Definitely agree. There should be zero tolerance on drink driving: it's not worth the risk. Glad everyone is ok. Janice |
