Hi Sally and all, Thanks for the messages. The reason I went there was becuase I found a website for the Postal Service. In fact I was directed to the site from someone on GR. There is nothing else I can find as he retired at the time of the war and some of those papers are not available. I had fun. Fi

Glad you had some luck with your investigations Fi........and a lot of respect to you for negotiating in a wheelchair in this heat especially......... Are there any websites for postal workers then, so that you can take what you found any further?

I got to the British Postal Museum via train and cab and with help from the staff I managed to find the appointment record and pension record of my Great Grandfather Cuff who started as a postman aged 18 and ended up retiring at the age of 60 as an Overseer (apparently that might mean he was high up). After time there I decided to see if I could get myself to the LMA. I made it despite havinng a bag of 3 bottles of water on the back of my wheelchair and also people directing me towards the FRC. No luck at the LMA but I am happy with the results I got. Now I know where it all is I will definitely go again. Fi
