I'm with you Diana. When I worked at Passolds (Ladybird childrens wear) I worked in Langley, definitely, not Slough, that was further on the rail line. lol Vivienne xx |

I have a relative born in Stoke Poges and baptised in Farnham Royal, working as a servant in Upton cum Chalvey, which I was mortified to find was in Slough area - she also had an illegitimate child born in Salt Hill, which nowadays appears to be sort of Slough. Still, she made good by marrying a respectable manservant who later became the beadle and they lived in a listed house on Richmond Green in Surrey, so that's OK. nell |

Vivienne I remember Passolds well..... right next to the train station!! ;o) Nell - Salt Hill is very much SLOUGH sadly..... right opposite Slough Town Hall! Upton cum Chalvey - was the NICE part of Slough once apon a time..... Upton and Chalvey are now 2 different areas!! Upton still has the big houses although CHALVEY is locally known as Little India now (no offense meant to anyone) xx |
