if you are using a fan, basically they just move around warm air. so, freeze a bottle of water, hang that in front of the fan and then it will blow cold air. fab! |

thanks for that paul. i have a hot water bottle in the fridge getting nice and cold. i will sit with it under my feet later on as this is the cheapest way of cooling down really quickly. at night i put it just at bottom of legs and i have a cool restful sleep. i have been doin this for 16 years as i had trouble with my feet swelling when i was pregnant and it works a treat. this also helps with tha 'hot flushes'. xx |

Scotty's Castle, situated in Death Valley, used lengths of burlap hanging over water tanks, (with the ends submerged) in an inclined tunnel. The Tunnel acts as a chimney, and the resulting cooled draught was used as a crude but effective form of air conditioning. Bob |

OK folks-this is what Cypriots do with 80 % humidity and 35 temperature. You move your beds outdoors and attempt to sleep, cats, dogs etc have to find their own space! Just remember to take the alarm clock with you -so you can get up at 5 30 to get back to work! xxx |
