So loved Luther Vandross, very sad he went. Loved so many of his songs, reminds me of my youth in the 80's. catherine xx He will always remain on my ipod forever. Rest in peace Luther your a star!!!

catherine, I have just finished the biography and I can't believe how many tracks he was a backing singer on that are part of my youth too!! ;o)

Oh I might have to get a copy of that. Am I the only one to think Luther was quite a hunk? Could have given Barry White a run for his money on the sexy vocals! Ang x

Diana I'm sure he was in a group called Slave he also sung Searching but can't remember if it was Slave - just googled it was Change I think i will have to get the book Julie who used to go clubbing ever Fri/Sat/Sunday night in the later 70's early 80's

Julie yes he was in CHANGE!! A manufactured band apparently!! :o) It seriously is a great book and when you read it it will take you back to your youth!! A fact I didn't know..... He did backing vocals on Sister Sledge's records!! ;O)

I wouldn't say he was a hunk but there was defo a something about him..... I prefered him when he had a few pounds on him as to me, live (I saw him 4 times) his voice sounded better!! xx

Diana I knew he started out as a backing singer I remember he did a concert in 83/84 and Tony Blackburn play the whole concert on the radio, i've got in on tape somewhere Julie

David Bowie found him...... which i knew but i didn't realise he was backing on so many tracks that i grew up with!! xx
