Hi Mandy, Ive started my family tree on here and know nothing about my father's side at all, apart from a brother Basil, nor where to start! What Im after is my father's parents and the family line. Regards Keith |

Hi Keith You will need to order a copy of your father's birth certificate in that case, after finding the GRO reference number from the indexes. This will give you his parents' names etc. As you have quite a few in your tree, I'm assuming that you're familiar with the procedure for ordering certificates. Good luck Mandy :) |

Hello Keith this looks like it may be your fathers birth if you can find Basil and the mothers name is the same then you could start to look for the parents marriage. If you get one of the cert it will start to take you backwards. Geoffrey Johnson / Tyldesley Ormskirk 8b 1450 Q2 April/ May/ June does this tie in with your fathers birthday? Germaine x Do you know when Basil was born? Looks promising Basil CW Johnson / Tyldelsey Ormskirk 8b 1530 Q2 April/ May / June 1924 |

Hi Mandy, I dont know much about my father's side of the family. He was born in 1926, so his brother Basil, would have been born approx 1916 on. Also had a sister called Edith, older again, but that,s all I know. Basil died about 8 year old. Buried in St Cuthbert's Church Southport. My father married my mother Marjorie Howard, born 1930, they married at Victoria Methodist Church in Southport, about 1954. Hope this helps! Regards Keith |

Hi Keith and anyone following . I really think that the Tyldesley name does come into it. I found what I presume is Basils Death. Ties in with the birth I found. Q 3 Basil CW 7 Ormskirk 8b 905 1931 Haven't found Edith yet. Will have to go back further. Have done from 1920. Also i am helping with the monumental Inscriptions for St. Cuthberts will email the girl in charge see if he has a grave stone. See if she can find it and that could help. Germaine x Found the parents marriage I have Keiths email so will send him the details and a link to the GRO site. Now am sure I am right. found Edith Edith Tildsley Ormskirk Q1 1918 8b 1305 and her parents marriage.
