Nurse let me jab hubby this morning - not half as bad as I thought it was going to be (even if he did flinch as I headed towards him with the needle) :-)))) |

LOL Trish Yes, you CAN do it...................... My mum and stepfather have been on a cruise to the Norweigian fjords twice and loved it both times :-) |

I had to inject myself twice a day with heparin to get me through my pregnancies.... It really isn't that bad...... If you are injecting him, it means he will be for ever nice to you, as he won't want to row with someone who is going to stab him with a needle!! Good Luck Merry |

You'll be fine sweetie. The first one is the most nerve racking but they won't let you near a human until they've shown you how. I've had to give injections as part of my course and once I'd done the first, the nerves just went away. Honest you'll do great. (((((((xxxxxxxxxx)))))) mwah btw, they still like to inject orenges and they also have sponges with a plasticy coating - it looksnf feels very simular to skin. |

Sounds like oranges are a favourite - are the needles disposable or do they get re-used? |

That's right Julie, hubby's blood isn't settling like it should so the cheapest and easiest option is the injections otherwise it's the blood tests done privately which cost a fortune. Perhaps I should think of all that wonderful scenery and pretend hubby's stomach is getting in the way of it and needs popping perhaps LOL |

I used to have to inject my late husband with insulin twice a day after he lost his eyesight and was unable to do it himself. Mind you, I was used to injections having been a nurse. We learnt by injecting oranges when I was a student nurse, so try that first by using water in the syringe. Stella |

Know how you feel, I had to inject my horses - otherwise it would have been an enormous vets bill. Try it on an orange first, and you will get the hang of it.....the secret is to be confident in what you are doing......good luck.....and think of Norway.... |

Oh TRish, rather you than me, I'm a bit squeamish, too I understand from my friend that the second time didn't bother her, once she had done it, the worries went. Good Luck and have a great holiday. Love June xx |

Got to go to the hospital tomorrow to learn how to inject hubby with Heparin (thankfully only under the skin) - I'm a bit squeamish about this but it will save us £500 whilst we're on holiday. I'm trembling already. UPDATE - I'm now a fully qualified jabberer - it didn't hurt me one bit :-))))) |
