Jackie. Well I can't stand on it, have crutches and it's very hard to do the ironing standing on one leg, and just as difficult sitting down to to it too --- well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!! |

Hope your ankle gets better soon and the plaster isn't too uncomfortable in this hot weather. PLease explain.... how do you get out of ironing because you have a broken ankle? I didn't get out of it when I had a broken hand!!! Jacky :-) |

you poor thing! just goes to show how easily things like that can happen. my other half tried to knock himself out on wednesday. bant down to put something in the bin and didnt see an advertisment sticking out from the wall! luckily it had a rounded edge or else he could have had a nasty wound. only made him feel faint, didnt actually go. take care. tina x |

Foot continued to swell last night and really hurt, so went to A & E, had X Ray and turns out I have a fractures malleolus (this is a small bone at side of foot). So I'm in plaster which will stay on for about 6 WEEKS, so have to rest - definately won't bve able to do ironing!!!. Hopefully this sunshine will stay and I can sit in garden and enjoy it! Have to get to gp's today to get a note for work as I am supposed to be on annual leave next week, and don't want to lose it, so if I provide a note I can claim it back. I work for NHS (theatre nurse) so definately won't be able to go in and stand for long periods. - which won't go down too well- seeing as it's time everyone has summer holidays!!! |

Twisted mine a couple of years ago - (fell of the kerb LOL) - just when I had an empty house and was in the middle of redecorating the dining room. Ever seen anybody climb a ladder with one knee and one foot to put wallpaper up??????? :-)))))) |

My darling little Retriever sprained mine for me about 7 or 8 years ago and it hurt like hell, so you have my sympathy. I would suggest putting some ice on it, but it wouldn't last long in this weather - do have any deep freeze (like Deep Heat but cold)? They do a spray one which is really good. Keep it up and let your daughter get the dinner tonight! Kaye x |

Sympathise greatly as I have damaged my back. However, don,t be down-hearted, positive thinking, concentrate on the good ankle. a friend of mine did it on holiday in Spain - in hospital over there for more than a week - insurance paid. Happy days |

I did exactly that a few years ago and it took four weeks to get better because I then walked on it (went to work etc). have you tried an ice pack (or frozen peas) on it? I sympathise, it is painful Ann Glos |
