This is just a thread to credit my DAD!! His birthday was the 23rd June which is coming up! This man was my everything!!!! He bought me up on his own, his marriage with my mum didn't work but he worked on raising me and I have nothing but respect for the man! He struggled with everything from earning enough money to knowing how to tell me about girls things (if you know what I mean)! I have not enough words to explain what he meant to me! I love you dad and I dedicate this to you!!! xxxxx Just needed to add My daddy died in 1992 and I still miss him like he went yesterday!

Good on you Mags. Sounds as though he needs a medal as big as a frying pan and he deserves a big kiss. Margaret

Since starting my family tree concentrating on my dad's side I feel I can imagine him as a little boy, and a teenager, which is something I never thought about when he was alive. We lived a long way from his home county and didn't really know his side of the family very well, altho I am in touch with some of them still. I know realise what it must have meant to him to be able to visit his mum while she was still alive, and spend time with his favourite sister and her family too. Once we kids were off their hands, my parents went on holiday with my aunt and uncle too and I am glad he had the chance to do that and get back to his roots. I am sorry now that I never encouraged him to visit more in his later years by driving him there, but then my brothers didn't either. He was always just my dad but I am now learning to think of him as a person too - if you can understand my meaning. We argued a lot but I can remember little special things he did for me which showed he cared and he helped me a lot with d i y when he was still fit and well. I think I returned the good deeds by giving him his favourite grandson, he idolised my son and spent many happy hours reading to him. Thanks, Dad.
