can you change what they read? Hubby got another car and swear it reads 30 when you are doing 20. Just been out in both cars to test it and either mine is 10 mph over or his is 10mph under. Can garages check them and change them to read right? That sounds like a real Jade goody question doesn't it |

Dawnie,Check the 'Mileage' it could have been 'Clocked',That age it should have done roughly 60 to 70 thousand miles,( thats average ).If thats OK. take it to Ford Dealer to see if the Gear on the end of the Speedo cable is worn ( they,re normaly Nylon)other than that get it syncronised,It will work out cheaper than speeding fines. Check to see if it has got new tyres? it could be that they put low profile tyres on to normal wheel rims, this would have the same affect Roy |

Tyre sizes are the most important thing........losing tread depth will make the speedo Over read ie you think that you are going at 70 when in reality you are going MUCH slower.......car speedos are usually optimistic anyway, as no manufacturer wants to be accused of fitting speedos that will get you done for speeding. can you check the manual? for the Tyre sizes that SHOULD be fitted. Had a new tyre on one of the back ones as had bald spot on it. Will get him to check them all again, may be worth changing the rest to match |

Hi Dawnie I would suggest taking the car to a garage & getting the spedo re-calibrated, usually its changing the tyre sizing that mucks it all up - or thats what caused my spedo to go funny. Take care Tracey |
