Thank you Sheila - that was it. I've been wracking my brains:)))) Thought it was beautiful and got some great photographs. We are thinking of going again this year.

Chrissie - Was it Trebah? We went there a few years ago on a glorious day, lots of tropical type plants sloping down to the sea - fantastic place.

Hi Jennifer We finally got around to going 2 years ago and enjoyed it, apart from the restaurant. We felt that it was one of those things that you are glad you have been but wouldn't bother going again. A bit too commercial. We enjoyed 'The lost gardens of Helligan' much more and have been twice and may go again one day. We went to some beautiful gardens last year and I have been looking on the map to see what they were called. The only ones that seem to ring a bell are Glendurgan on the Helford river. The one that we went to led right down to the sea. Chrissie x

Do you know, as a child I visited St Austell China Clay Quarry - now the 'Eden Project', and at the time, lived in Mevagissey, regularly playing in what are now the 'Lost Gardens of Heligan'. I have to admit it was a great childhood - bur now the gardens have been 'found' that's an awfully big play area gone!!!! maggie

Went a few years ago. I enjoyed it although the children weren't keen. Very interesting place but hot and humid in one bio-dome.The outside displays were very good. I've got to admit that I enjoyed The National Botanical Garden of Wales more. I've been there several times and I always see something new. Viv

we have been twice and think it is great. Make sure you don't get swept along by the crowds. Some people just seem to follow the person in front not stopping to read all the information. there is a lot of interesting information there if you look for it. We were there in january and there was plenty of room in the restaurant, might be crowded in school holidays though. Ann Glos

Went there last year in October and had beautiful weather. It was a brilliant day. Great tip about going on a Saturday would never have thought of that one but as said the majority of people will be arriving or leaving on that day. Enjoy it Linda

Hi Jennifer Make sure you wear comfy shoes coz you'll be amazed how far you walk. Try not to go on a rainy day as although the biomes are obviously indoors, there is so much to see in the grounds outside. If you are coming to Cornwall in peak season (July/Aug), the best day to go to avoid some of the crowds is on Saturday. The reason for this is that this day is 'change over day', and there are lots of people either travelling in or out of the county, and therefore not visiting attractions. Most of all, enjoy yourself. If you are interested in plant life, you may be interested in the Lost Gardens of Heligan as well, which are near Mevagissey. Happy holidays. Pauline
