Has anyone else ever had trouble with sellers? Tuesday night i won the winning bid on an item £310. Had arranged with the seller to pay for the item on pick up as it was a large item . Just had an e-mail from the seller to say he forgot to put a reserve on it and is not willing to sell it for my winning bid. Does anyone know does he have to sell it to me for that price or not . As this is the first time i have bought anything from e-bay Cath .

Reckon you'd have to check with ebay customer service lotfink there's a link to report bad sellers/buyers etc......but i'd reckon he'd have to sell it to you as it was his mistake....his tuff luck & he'd know better for the next time,eh???!!! Hope you get a good result from it :-)

Thanks guys I did try to contact e-bay but i got stuck on the section where you have to attach a copy of the messages that have been sent between myself and the seller . I think it will be my first and last time buying of this site it has really put me off. The checky begger has even got 100% feed back too . Cath

I am a regular E Bay trader. If there was no reserve, you and he have entered into a legally binding contract. he is obliged to sell you the goods at the winning bid price. Hound him and E Bay. Give him negative feedback

I am a regular ebayer too, you should try to resolve it directly with the seller again, he is legally obliged to sell to you, but you can't force him to let you have it, and enforcing the legalities would be difficult. The auction is supposed to be binding, if he hasn't put a reserve on then that is his hard luck. If he still refuses to sell at that price, tell him you want to avoid leaving negative feedback, but you feel he is treating you unfairly and you won't have any option. You should open up a DISPUTE and let the ebay process take over. Only then if you can't resolve things, should you leave negative feedback. He would probably only retaliate with negative feedback for you. Good luck.
