Hi, Melanie, no not in Welly. In fact if I went to the top of the hill you might be able to see me! Well not really. I live near the dams that supply water to Auckland, out in the Hunua Hills. Had a double bereavement this afternoon, had our dog and cat put down as they were both elderly and werent enjoying life very much. Shed lots of tears. They were the best dog and cat we have ever had, but they are better off now.

Hi Melonie, we're in France & we have sent our passports to the British Embassy in Paris. Everything filled in etc, cost a fortune to send it by registered post. They (mine & hubbies) came back last week with a form saying we had'nt sent enough money. I sent what it said on paper they sent me. They sent a new paper with returned passports & it had gone up. So had to send new cheques, cost another fortune to send them again. Meanwhile I would love to have gone back to England last week for a family funeral & could'nt. GRRRRRRR. Hope you get yours ok today.

HI Liz, yep its the one I won from work. It is just so frustrating that in oredr to actually talk to a real person I have to pay $2-45 a minute, get put on hold for ages then she can't tell me anythign anyway! GO TO SLEEP!!!!!!!

My commiserations, Melanie. Bureaucracy (my 3rd attempt at spelling it, still doesnt look right but thats what the dictionary says) is a real pain in the sit-upon. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Melanie, can imagine you hopping around in frustration, as I would be too. Hope you get things sorted out in time for your holiday - the one you 'won' from work yes? Off to bed now, it's 20 to 4 monday morning in Norwich and I should have been in bed ages ago, just get into answering my messages etc and the time flies. Bye for now, Liz

Ok so I needed a new passport and sent it all off to the High Commission here in Wellington. Its annoying enough that it costs far more here than in the UK, but ok I thought. So after a month ( I am going on holiday in 3 weeks), I get in touch by e-mail and ask how long will it take? I get a reply back ( with no name) saying they have a backlog and can I tell them when they would have received it and they will look for it!!! Good job I sent it by courier. So I do a track and trace and tell them when they got it and who signed for it. This was last Weds and I got a reply saying that it would be printed and sent out on Thursday by courier. Ok so now its Monday afternoon and no sign. I ring them up ( premium rate line, $2-45 a minute) get put on hold, then a few minutes later the girl who had answered the phone said she couldn't get through to the passport section and suggested I e-mail them, but they may take a few days to reply!!!! If I ever get my new passport I then have to get it to NZ Immigration to get my Residency transferred across to my new passport, so happy??? Nope I really am not!
