The outlaws have been away, they got back Wednesday and because we all have colds, including the tiddler, she is ringing me twice a day insisting that I take him to the doctors, the child has a cOLD, he doesnt have a temperature, his chest is clear and as far as I am aware, they have yet to find a cure for the common cold. I know she is just concerned, but she is doing my head in, have told other half that he needs to have a word, because if I have to do it, it wont be pretty. This is the woman who used to whip her two precious angels off to the doctor everytime she 'thought' there 'might' be something wrong. I am not daft, if I think that the little one needs to go, then I will take him. Rant over, need coffee LOL

I wouldnt mind so much but she has been like this since the day he was born, he had to go into SCUBU for a few days because I was diabetic during pregnancy and he got some placental blood, we had to tell her that she wouldnt be allowed in because, she is Spanish (no really!) and very prone to over reacting and she doesnt do quiet. Everytime he has a sniffle or anything else, 'Take him to the doctors'

the little monkey is in and out of the garden terrorising the rabbits, cans and squirrels, he is fine, but in an hour or two he will need a nap because he will get tired, he only comes and bothers me when he has sneezed and miraculously, two very long green 'shoelaces ' appear from his nose LOL

Julia, I had to respond to this one lol Green shoeslaces pmsl!!!! My tiddler could keep them in business for years! It's completely revolting, and he has it all the time, not just when he's got a cold. Crikey we'd be living in the doctors if I took him just because he's always got green gunge glooping glossily out of his nose. You know best Julia, go with your own instincts. Count to 10, tell her there's someone at the door, the phones cutting out, crackle crackle etc! Best of luck, hope he's ok. Margaret x

OMG!!! Have we got the same mother-in-law???? It's totally what I go through everytime my shorty even has a sniffle!!! Pour example: Shorty takes temperature seizures (has grown out of now) and the first one any parent sees is terrifying. Now my m-i-l had a perfect view from her house to our old one and spotted the ambulance outside and hot footed it down to ours, I'm in the middle of shear terror and throwing stuff in a bag to take to hospital etc and the paramedics have my son in their arms heading to the ambulance....SHE says I think if he's going to die he'd be better at home..????!!!! WHAT????? That hadn't even crossed my mind but now the ambulance crew have got a hyperventilating hysterical mother to deal with and I swear they would have hit her for saying it!!! We just carry on oblivious to her to get shorty into ambulance.Once he's wired up to a million machines and is starting to come round SHE says he needs to be sitting up in a proper seat not strapped to that bed..........my patience snapped and I said some things that couldn't be repeated on here and needless to say since then she thinks before she opens her mouth!!! I am very grateful we have moved house to further into the village as she cany see us now!!! :)) I have every sympathy with you as that's just one example and there are many more which I'll not bore you with as I'm sure you've had similar experiences with yours :))

Anna, indeed it looks like we might have the same mil, LOL I would NEVER EVER lived within walking distance of her (she doesnt drive) or even live with her, I know she is spanish and old and her whole life are her perfect two boys and her perfect grandson, but I just cant cope with it all the time. Please God dont let me be like that as a mil, the kids have instructions to shoot me if I start LOL

This might make you chuckle!! My husband's father's side of the family have usually gone a bit dotty to say the least now when him & his wife got married (my mil + fil) his mum said to my mil 'promise me you'll never put me in a home, not matter how bad i get?' my mil said she would never do such a thing....which later came back to haunt her as poor old nanna (not nanna anna!) had alzheimers and it was sad to watch but we got some laughs out of it too (you have to laugh sometimes!) Well when me & my huuby tied the not my mil told me the story bout what her mil had said on her wedding day and i said 'don't guarantee i'll make you the same promise!!' She's been very wary of me since.....can't think why???!!! pmsl :))))
