The drama documentary next week in 2 parts about the Moors Murders? This is the only one ever been made and the victims families have all viewed it and allowed it to go ahead. I know it's terrible but I have always been fascinated by true murder so I will be watching. Debby

I might. I am glad they asked the families of the victims first though.

Not sure I'd have the stomach for it to be honest. I know far more than I am comfortable with about what those evil Ba****ds did xx

I will as it has the seal of approval from the families they must want us to know. I'm very pleased that these 2 got life and it meant life...... so many sentences today do not mean it!!

Jean Durant Report 7 May 2006 20:17

I don't think I will be able to. I remember the trial as if it was yesterday. The Evening News, as it was, printed extracts from the tapes. They still haunt me..... how it affected the jury members, who had to listen to them, I can't imagine. Jean x.

That's what I mean though - we all know how terrible the case was and I feel uncomfortable with myself for wanting to watch it but crime really does fascinate me so am I wrong? Debby

I will be watching Read a lot of books about them and it really does distrube you to think about it There is a book out there that is the full transcript of the court hearing - not for the faint hearted and I hope that isn't included in the documentry. I drove over the saddleworth moor a couple of weeks ago and it is the most eerie place on a dull foggy day. Joanne

Joanne I feel the same every time we drive past there. I remember my mum telling me about the footage of Lesleys mother waiting on the edge of the moor while they were searching for her body ( I was only a young girl at that time) and my mum always said she could have killed Myra HIndley for what she die. Debby, No you are not wrong to want to watch it. I am fascinated by true crime as well...it is just that I found this particular case so upsetting. Perhaps it was because I had young children at the time and the reporting was so vivid. I wanted Hindley to serve a whole life sentence and was so glad she did. Anyone who could take part in such horrific murders deserved to suffer themselves and I sincerely hope she did. Jean x.

I agree with you Jean, I too had young children at the time and was repulsed by Hindley and Brady. They never told parents where their children were either. Despicable!! I think families of the victims are very brave in watching programme, don't think I could, and Lord knows what it must have been like for those on the Jury. Maureen

Debbie it isn't wrong to watch it, I will be as I just can't help but think of the poor Mothers and the children and especially keith Bennett Mum as he has never been found - RIP. After driving over Sadlleworth the other week, it was raining and foggy I did wonder what it is like in summer on a hot day and asked a friend of mine who drives over that way from Sheffield on a regular basis and he said that even on hot days it still feels cold and wrong to be there!!!
