I haven't ordered them all, I must say, but I am fairly lucky i have uncommon surnames. I can usually get away with the g. grandparents ones, then work back. I have ordered about 8 in total I suppose. :0) Joan xx |

I do & some lateral ones as well. Have at the moment, Birth 21 Marriage 11 Death 18 with more due 15/05/06 & I think mine is a small collection. My excuse is that I don't smoke, rarely drink & don't have huge clothe or shoe collections. Vivienne xx |

I don't order marriage certs, unless they are 'out of county' - I use the second registers, which are at my local county record office. When dealing with births and deaths, I also use the baptism and burial registers - both often include the date of birth and parents, or date of death as well as baptism or burial. (These are in small villages, not towns) I go through PR anyway, to work out members of the extended families. I do buy certs, but on a 'collecting' basis, rather than because I need to know or confirm a relationship. I suspect if I were dealing with relllies who lived in towns or cities, or had common names, then I would need to buy more in order to confirm relationships as I went along. Jay |

yes I have all of them except 1 marriage that I can't find and 19 deaths that I haven't found yet. I am researching all my lines, that's why so many! they have been purchased over many years by myself and my sister. you just never know what little snippets of useful info you will find! even deaths can be helpful, this week I received one that enabled me to find the daughter's marriage and trace her family forward through the censuses too. of course, it also confirms that you have the right family! - particularly if you have very common names.
