''It warned the tsunami could strike Fiji as early as 1813 BST, New Zealand as early as 1821 BST. '' Would we have heard by now? Penny

Sky News has said the Pacific Ocean alert has been cancelled, there was a tsunami but it was only a few centimetres this time so far. My sister emigrated to NZ 16years ago, only seen her twice in this time frame, so was naturally concerned about the family out there but it all seems ok so far. Claire

Our home is 100 or so metres above sea level so it would need to be the most ginormous tsunami to affect us. However, we are in an area with a lot of fault lines so one day we could be affected by an earthquake. We have felt some small ones and we did build our house with earthquakes in mind, tried to make it to withstand such things, although the biggest would probably get it. Our son in Rotorua has felt and heard quite a few biggish ones.
