Hi Felicity I was very interested to read what you've posted, as I had something similar said to me, although not in the context of your thread. Long story which I won't go into now, but my birth mother said some truly awful things about me, regarding me as a baby and me now as an adult. Obviously I was distraught. My adoption counsellor said to me: 'You are not responsible for the actions or reactions of others'. It was so true, and applies to so many different situations, that I have kept it as my sort of motto! Thanks for posting this, Mandy |
