I feel very sorry for the wife in this case, it's a bad enough situation for any women to go through, but when they have the stinking rotten press that this country has at there door it must be terroble. Leave them alone to sort there problems out i say. He isn't the first husband to stray and he wont be the last.Doesn't make it right though. Gill

Hasn't there just been a change in the law whereby compensation has been REDUCED to victims? It does ring a bell. Deanna X

I don't think they can even claim compensation from the Criminal Injuries Board either - the system SUCKS!!

Well sorry no offence to anyone but I think rapists who are found guilty should have their you know whats cut off.

They have the power to seize all the assets of drug dealers, so why not of other criminals?

Saints Alive Report 30 Apr 2006 17:26

In that case then the frigging law should be changed so that they do get compensation, and that the rapist should serve a far longer sentence and be castrated. *Twizz now calms down and gets off the box*

Yeah I get ya but lets not get confused where the money is coming from (as I first thought when reading your title) Papers make millions and can afford to splash out whatever it takes to get their story, especially something like this. The Judges I'm sure would love to pay out just as much to the real victims, but they dont have the money that the papers do in the wiggy bank.

Wish I had the money to make a bet like that! She made me sick, when I saw her on the Tele.... pleading her case! Once upon a time..... a woman would want to 'shut up' about it, not tell the world. I feel so very sorry for his wife. All the press at the door. And now she knows it happened while she was laughing and enjoying herself with friends AT THE TIME in the same building. Poor Woman. I'm not saying the newspapers should pay compensation, just showing how little value our Legal System put on the sanctity of womanhood, compared to the rewards offered for immorality, and not only that, but boasting about it, not to mention breaching confidentiality.

You are so right. and do we really care about his affair??

Newspapers aren't there to pay 'claims'. I see what your saying but papers are businesses with a lot their own money. Compensation is completly different.

The female Civil Servant who dropped her kn...ers for John Prescott gets paid more for her story than some poor virgin who has been raped gets compensation. Maybe the Lord Chief JUSTICE should be paying attention?
