You know the kid on the school coach trip who always got sick ......that was me! Even now I can't get on a coach, I think I must have a phobia, as just thinking about getting on a coach....let alone travelling on one makes me feel queesy.

i've always been terrible with this too............... can't read in a car, that sets me off, can't drink fizzy drinks, can't travel backwards on a bus or train, and as for boats............. well, not too bad now i've started using the big cruise liners instead of the Isle of Wight ferry..... just find now on the cruises that after i've been on it for more than 24 hours, i can''t walk straight on dry land when we dock somewhere !!!! lol. am back on one again this Thursday, woo hoo !!

I don't travel too well in the back of cars but I just feel sick never have actually been sick. daughter is not a good travelelr and was sick until I gave her kwells. I take joy rides when I fly and I have also found that the wrist bnds work, both with me and with the Grandchildren, a couple of whom are not good travellers. ann Glos

Dawnie, Me and my sister Yvonne were always travel sick when our parents used to take us out into the country as children. My father used to take a plastic bucket everywhere with us, I used to drink tonic water with quinine already added. Yvonne grew out of it and has travelled the world, me now I've just turned 56 last Sunday and if I don't drive myself I still feel a little bit sick, the only water I've crossed is over a bridge, I've never travelled abroad for that reason alone. The worst thing for me is as a passenger travelling along country roads ( unlit ) late at night, I get tunnel vision I can't see the horizon of the road ahead, and this makes me want to heave. It's easy to say don't think about it, but it's all I think about if I have a long journey ahead. I was told not to have too much liquid on the stomach and suck some mints which do help I must admit. Best wishes from Diane...............

Me and mum get travel sick (I'm the worst by far) but dad and little bro are fine traveling. Me and mum take ginger capsualls before travelling and I have to eat peppermint creams and drink lots of water throught the journey. I've lost count how many times I've Ordered my dad to pull over or to stop at a serice station because I feel so bad. I sleep as much as I can when travelling which is easy if you are up at 4 am for breakfast ready for the 6am start. We use to travel with a potty, nappie bags and wet wipes when my brother was little and being potty trained - and a couple of changes of clothes. And it was all to save and cleaning up if I was ill. I feel sorry for any parent that has to sort out a travel sick child, mine had to clean me up as a babyand try to wash my car seat (non-removalbel cover) - goodness only knows what the people they were staying with thought!

I get travel sick still if i have to travel in a car with magic tree figure that one! also if im on train or bus travelling backwards, youngest gets travel sick if we have to go around roundabouts, and eldest gets travel sick if he has to sit in back of car or if he has had something to eat just before getting into the car. oh what fun we have when we go out 1, no magic tree freshners 2, no roundabouts 3, no eating directly before getting in car lol family fun.

Dawnie, I was a nightmare in a bus or a car, until I was about 30! My youngest was too. I used to carry a change of clothes, a soap bag with a wet flannel. Always had quickies anyway ( am I aging myself?) News paper and plastic bag...... not as bulky as it sounds. Poor wee Tiddler... I found it was the smell of petrol. The tribulations of motherhood Dawnie. LOL Deanna X

Dawn I agree with the others, Stugeron works wonders and well worth having in the bag. Can be taken immediately preceding or during travel too which is always a bonus. Don't forget to keep the baby wipes and bottled water handy! Daisy

I used to get very bad travel-sickness when i was young Dawnie. Cars, buses, trains even ferry trips,Mam used to give me boiled sweets but it never helped, and i found reading made things worse. Now I'm older i take Stugeron (like Rosalyn) and don't have any bother.Took them when we went to Australia, and that's some journey. Your children might grow out of it, is there a Junior tablet they could take? Mau XX

Daisy Eldest feels sick in cars as well. Our trick is to go to sleep and woe betide anyone who wakes us before the vehicle has stopped. She can read in car though so that takes her mind off it I can't do that makes me worse, I have to eat sweets. (any excuse) Son is fine now used to be sick as well though

Dawn I was a hopeless passenger as a child and Ellie is just the same now. I don't go anywhere without a sick bag just in case, but I don't let her know I've got it! It helps to keep looking at things and keep them distracted when travelling. Just staring fixedly at one spot trying hard not to feel/be sick actually has the opposite effect. Daisy

I remember as a child being sick in cars. Now I`m okay usually in cars but in planes I eat crystallised ginger all through a journey and take Stugeron tablets. I was sea sick on the calm Caribbean Sea 5 years ago on a cruise -had to get anti-sickness jag! Think it runs in the family -my mother is sick on cruises too and she`s nearly 80. Ros

Just been out for a drive and tiddler moaning all the time announcing she feels sick. Eldest found cocnut shell in amongst mess and she duly used it. Stopped to sort her out and kept thinking mum would be more prepared than me as I was always travel sick. Even on a bus mum would have to change me because I would be sick. Even now I am a useless passenger worse in back but not brilliant in the front and as for buses hmmmmmmmm. Worse bit was the coconut shell tiddler was given was the half with the three holes in so you can imagine the mess, think thats called s**ds law. SO who else can't travel very well
