Have you tried steaming with Friars Balsam in the water? Try to keep in an even temperature. If your bedroom is comparatively cold to your living room, sleep downstairs if you can. (or make the living room colder! lol) If laying down makes you feel worse and extra pillows don't give you the support you need to sleep, try folding a single duvet into 4 and put it over your normal amount of pillows. If you put the 'edges' to the top, you can fold one or two down for extra neck support. (this is also good for bad backs btw - the support goes right down to your hips) If you start getting pain as well as the difficulty breathing, ring the gp again, you may have pleurisy. Hope you feel better soon. Mags xx

Hi Lisa If that's the thing I caught at the London meet the other week (sounds like it is) there isn't much you can do except put up with it for a week. I've never had anything like it in the chest and didn't sleep for coughing & chest pain at night for about a week - not a lot of help I know but you have my sympathy:)

Elaine, it clears the airways very quickly, other than that the only thing stronger is 'Semtex'and that does more than singe, but then again,it would solve the problem once and for all. Hal.:o))))))> xx.

Thats ok have plenty of hot drinks, I found squash of your choice made with boiling water makes a lovely hot soothing drink, relieves a blocked nose and sore throat. Keeps your fluids up, and the warmness is comforting Remember your lemsips contain paracetamol, so dont be tempted to take the tablets as well. Ex
