I've been given this as the cause of death for my 2x Great Grandfather;

Brighlo Disease, 2 months, Pnemonia, 1 Month, Anasorea. Anyone know what Brighlo Disease or Anasorea is?

Could it be Brights Disease? A vague and obsolete term for disease of the kidneys

Bit of an advert I think but explains the second word.... Disorders associated with liver disease for which BioScan analysis would be useful are related to excess total body water (TBW) and Extracellular Water (ECW) accumulation. Excess fluid accumulates ascites and odema, chiefly in the lower extremities, but can accumalate anywhere (anasorea).

So basically he became a great big water bag full of liquid? Lovely......

Yes sounds like that could be what happened!! Today we call it water retention!! :O)

Paul, Bright's disease.......Historically, Bright's disease is often general term for Kidney disease, but strictly speaking is a complication of Streptococcal sore throat. Anasorea.....I think is Anasarca....which is Massive Oedema from heart or Renal failure, which would appear to be relevent to the Kidney disease. Jen
