I lost my Pilot (Golden Retriever) some years ago (he was 16) and have his ashes in the living room with a photo of him on the casket, he brought me so much joy and companionship, I too cant part with him. I said to an Aunt not long ago I want him buried with me and she thought it a silly idea! I was surprised and felt rather stupid, thinking as she had three dogs she would understand! I guess not everyone gets so emotionally attached? Suzanne |

We buried our Daisy at the end of our garden (a terraced house garden so not big). We dug a hole my son and I - he was 16 then and we had Daisy for 12 years - and we lowered her down wrapped in her blanket. The vet had had to put her to sleep as she had had a relapse after an op for mammary cancer. She was curled up as if she was asleep. We put a note and a photo in a plastic box and covered her over with the blanket and later we planted a lilac tree in the corner close to her body. Our last cat to die, Chloe, is buried in a similar way in the tiny front garden where she liked to hold court to all the people walking by. She is under the magnolia tree. |

When my Wife's dog, Jake, passed away we had him cremated and his casket stood in his favourite place until my wife passed away eighteen months ago. Jake's casket was put in the coffin with my wife and now her casket, with Jake, are in her favourite room until I go. Then all three of us will be scattered as and where our children wish. My beloved Monty died 9 years ago and I still can't bring myself to bury his ashes. Is that pathetic or what??? Every Christmas when I take the cut glass out of the cabinet for the family party I say to him 'Are you all right my lovely boy?' Cherryx |

Some of you may remember my beautiful old gal, henrietta, who died last year... She was 20 and was such a special friend to me. I couldnt bare to be without her and had her cremated and have kept her ashes at my bedside, her favorite place to sleep......My family and friends thought it 'weird' to keep her there and think she should be scattered.. sounds daft really, but i took the ashes to her favorite walk but couldnt do it as i didnt want her to wonder where i was when i went home.....Anyway, some lovely person on here sugested a pot and a special plant, and popping her in there so when i move she will come too......Today, mum has just turned up with a lovely little 2ft weeping willow and pot....I am in tears, but today is my final goodbye...Sleep sweet Henri, mummy will love you forever and a day...xxxxxx |
