Mine will do most of the housework although he leaves the ironing. Lovely man does the bathroom and toilets as toilets give me the heeby geebys. Came back from cubs last night and he was hoovering downstairs, what a star I have. Oh he can cook as well and does DIY |

Well, I suppose I musn't run mine down too much because he is a star at DIY - he's a carpenter and joiner and saved our son an absolute fortune when they bought their first house. Also saved us a load of money with his DIY skills. So, he can't be good at everything. |

my o.h. will do things if he is asked to them, but NEVER will he SEE the job in the first place. all the pots would be used up before he decides to wash up, he has no clean clothes to wear before he has to put the washer on etc etc. he is very good if i say to him - it is your day off will you run the hoover round whilst im at work or do the washing up i have left. i cannot complain really, only wish he would tidy up after himself! tina x |

I think it is a shame that a lot of men aren't encouraged to learn the basics - I have seen men turn into babies when they lose their wives (from illness/death or sheer carelessness when the wives are fed up with being skivvies and find someone else to treat them well). They go to pieces cos they don't know how to look after themselves, and live off takeaways and instant meals, becoming ill themselves. Always made sure my son knew how to do things and he has lived away from home since he was 18, and manages well. |
