I have been working for the past 27 years and never had any breaks in employment and only 2 weeks sickness in all that time when I hurt my back really badly, and am just beginning a brand new experience - I have taken redundancy at work and am now planning to take a few weeks off to relax and do what I want to do!!! Do I feel guilty, no, thouroughly looking forward to it - should I be feeling guilty or should I be worrying? The money from the redundancy will keep me going for about 9 months.................................... So now I have got plenty more time to research my tree!!! Jayne

Good on Ya!! enjoy your leisure time and do ALL you promised yourself you would do if you had the time. I remember panicking when I knew I was being made reundant/early retiired in 1989 and rushed to find another job locally.I live in Kent but was a London commuter. I did work again for another nine years and finally gave up in 1998 AND would you know the loss of earnings wasnt that a big deal ,I have pension from the London Job but I dont need as much moneywise as I did then as expenses are so much lower.no fares etc Enjoy your leisure time. envy envy envy. I would love not to go to work in the winter. it is such a drag unlocking my bike and riding in the cold dark night . especially this winter seems to have been longer and colder. I would stock my cupboards full so I didnt have to go out for a couple of months. Dont mind working in the summer though as I know thats what brings the money in to fund my holiday......
