At 4:20-25am this morning I heard an almighty BANG ! followed by smashing glass, Then came another bang and smash. Shouted for hubby, but he'd left for work, looked out front and back,....dark so saw nothing. Kyle calls out scared. Suddenly I panic, David only left a short while before....what if ??? Phone Dave on mobile, hes OK, saw nothing (thank gawd) Then phone police to relay what was heard. Half hour later, police car sitting down bottom of road, turns out the noise we heard was two cars being hit (By another car most likely as it came down the road) One car at the bottom of the road belongs to one of my neighbours, it was sitting in the middle of the road the impact must have been great....its so bad recovery take it away so now both me and Kyle have been up since 4.20-25am Why is it, on the first day we havent had to get up early, this happens. think thats called sods law Usually happens to us if we dont have to get up the battery will go in smoke alarm!!!!!!!

Have a nap this afternoon instead Elaine. Gloryer, that always happens doesn't it, ususally in the early hours and never during the day or evening.

Gracious Elaine, did you get your tin hat out ready! :)) We had some firework noises in the early hours, bit early for May Balls, methinks, but you never know! :))

Initially I thought it was by the sound of it, a front and back windscreen being smashed in Obviously I was wrong Im just glad David never got hit by the maniac who did it. After all, he left out house about 4.15am to go to work... (he never saw any cars either) ....must have missed it by minutes ! Elaine x

Boy racer, on his way home i guess- probably did his street cred no good whatsoever. Same innocent neighbour is a victim. my opposite neighbour was robbed (garage) very early Thurday morning - 5k motor bikes/quads etc- no-one heard a sound! Jess

What an awful wake up call you got Elaine, glad Dave wasn't there at the time. I woke up with a start too but only because I thought it was Tuesday and I would be at the dentist and have forgot the time of my appointment nice when I realised what day it was I went back to sleep for a couple of hours. Hope you feel better as the day goes on. Germaine x

Muia, thats a real pain, when the batteries go in the smoke alarm, and why does it always happen at night?
