How do you thread a needle?

Hubby has been looking on in amusement because I hold the cotton quite near the top and then drop the eye of the needle onto it. Thought that was normal but apparently not.

LOL - I hold the needle upright, just dampen the end of the thread - then pass thru the eye ....................

I use a needle threader, not that I do much needle-threading!!

I broke my needle threader doing some Christmas decorations.

Selina, fancy seeing you here LOL. OK I hold the thread in my left hand so that just a half inch of it is showing and then I put the needle to it. Hubby says I should hold the needle and put the thread to it.

That's the right saying - and yes, he is. When we first met he removed the sellotape I was using to hold the handle of the vacuum cleaner together and actually used some nuts and bolts.

They're great aren't they. Whatever I break he manages to fix it. Just wondered there, what sort of impression am I making to you? Can't cook, can't sew,.......... I have learnt how to do a bit of woodwork though, and plaster walls

I removed a fireplace a few months ago and the wall was an absolute mess. Managed to fill the major holes with some rough plaster and skimmed a couple of thin layers on afterwards. Looks quite good if I do say so myself, though I may not have used the correct tools but who cares.

Thinking about it, I think I do it yoyr way Trish. I do not understand however why there should have to be a right and a wrong way. If it does the job, who cares? Liz

Very true Liz, glad I'm not the only one. Not too sure if I'm right or left handed so that may have something to do with it.

im left handed, and can barely see the flipin eye of needle, so endup with huge needle, but put thread through the needle

They really are making the eyes of needles smaller these days aren't they Julie, must be something to do with economy :-)))
