Hey guys, Hope your all well, I haven't been around lately busy at work. I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with Bradley Stoke, North Bristol? I'm looking for my Gt Grandads burial and just wondered if anybody has any contact info for that area. Many thanks Stacey x |

Hellooo! Bradley Stoke is just up the road from me (well sort of! LOL) Hugely developed with sprawling housing estates. Is it the actual churchyard you are looking for? Mags xx |

Hello Mags, I believe so my nan and grandad can remember a church and possibly on a hill. I don't have much info but grandad can't remember where and I'd like to find it for him. Stacey x |

Stacey Bradley Stoke is a modern development. The nearest old church at the bottom of a hill is St Mary's, Almondsbury, which would most likely burial site for the area. The other possibility would be St Michaels, Stoke Gifford. Martin |

Hi Stacey, Sorry - been away from the computer for a while. Was your great grandad born in the area too? I was thinking that his christening might be shown on the LDS site even if his burial wasn't - may give the name of the church on there to narrow things down a bit. Other than that, if you let me have the details I might be able to persuade my husband to take me on a hunt! LOL (I don't drive) I can't promise but I will try. Mags xx |

Hi Stacey, I'm not in the area, but I do have the National Burial Index at home, which contains millions of records (though seemingly none of my own relatives). If you want to give me the details, I will see if I can find anything on there this evening. Don't build your hopes up though, as the NBI is far from complete. Carole |

No he wasn't born in the area he was born up here near me in Essex. Thank you both very much it's very appreciated. It's been a long process trying to find him I'be done warminster, bradford- upon - avon and wooten bassett. I'm just hoping this will be the last place I have to look. I don't have very exact info but this is what I do have and any help is received with many thanks. It's Walter Willsher, he was born in 1901 and died about 1966-67. Thanks again. Stace xx |

Thank you Nana Anna, I'm not sure I'll have to check that one because I'm not aware of any middle name, but it does seem strange there would be a Walter Willsher in the area at the same sort of time. So it probably is. Thanks again Stacey xx |

South Gloucestershire burials are online at Bristol and Avon family history site. Bradley Stoke is quite new. It used to be known locally as sadly broke because a lot of young couples bought houses before the property price crash. |

I was just wondering if it still had that nickname annie, I used to live in Thornbury, not a million miles away from Bradley Stoke. |
