I would swap so that he is the main driver as he is going to be anyway. It may benefit you as he has more no claims. You can still own the car though. My hubby bought me a car and is the registered owner and keeper, but I am the main driver. :o) Claire xx |

Dawnie, i really don't know the answer i'm afraid, but i wouldn't have thought it was a problem. i'm trying to think if they ask me if i'm the owner of my car when i insure it, but can't remember them asking................. think a phone call to insurance might help................. |

Jane can you be a main driver on insurance if the vehicle isn't in your name? |

may i just suggest........ that you don't bother swapping the ownership over the car to your husband................ reason being it will be worth more when you do come to sell it on, swapping names on it will add an extra owner on to the log book, even though the car hasn't moved house, and having a lady owner is worth more than a male owner ! but with your insurance, haven't got the foggiest idea..................soz ! |

Hubby has sold his van which he was the main driver on the insurance, Now he will be main driver on my car which on Insurance I am main driver. He has more no claims than me, do we swap it so he is main driver or leave it as it is until July when we renew. Would his no claims still count then or not? |
