Where on a pc does Microphone headset go?

I've got two connectors running from the headset. Which ports should they plug into on a standard PC? I've tried but can't get any sound coming through and probably the mike isn't working. Can anyone find a pic to show me, or take a digi pic for me? Cheers.

One goes to mic at top and other to spare speaker hole.

apparently according to my hubby who is indesposed!!! (say no more) He said they plug into the colour co-ordinated plugs on the sound card. You may have to right click the sound control to activate it though!!!! Beats me!!! good luck xxx

Hi try plugging your connectors in to Headphone socket an Mic socket .If they are colured at end of leads the colours should match up on your ports e.g.Like keyboard and mouse.Hope this helps. regards Kat

No there's something odd with these ones. I'm quite qualified in ICT but even this is beating me! Might just buy a new earthly set. Tried the suggestions already, hmmm.

Daniel, I had the very same problem with a mic headset. It turned out that my PC hardware didn't register a 32 ohm mic. It wasn't powerful enough. Sure enough I got a 600 ohm desk mic that you can stick to the side of your PC and a set of walkman earphones, and hey presto! Claire xx

I bought one of those High Sensitivity desk mikes for using on Skype, biggest load of rubbish I've ever bought. I ended up taking it off the stand and holding it about one inch from my mouth. Ron www*genealogyprinters*com
