There's always someone who talks to themselves. If there isn't I feel obliged to take up the post.

The little slidy bit was stiff, so I kindof yanked it, and the whole panel came off! I tried pushing it back in, but I had bent the little metal bit which pushes the glass up. After about 15 minutes of panicking thinking they'd make me pay for it, I fixed it! *phew*

You don't say if the day was worthwhile. I went to Suffolk CRO whilst on hols last year and didn't get anywhere with my lot LOL

Paul, were the staff helpful or did they train at 'The dragon school'? I have to go to Norfolk & Suffolk record office, can't decide which one to do first!

Forgot to mention staff at Suffolk CRO were wonderful and very helpful. Have also been to Devon CRO and they are good there too.

Yes they were helpful, I didn't know where or what I was looking for, because I hadn't been before. Their system is EXTREMELY easy to work out. (Needs to be for me) The only thing I didn't understand was their system for quarter sessions, I asked, but still didnt have a clue!

Oh good, its quite scary if you haven'y been before. I have been to the Heritage Centre in the Forum in Norwich, which has some excellent info, the staff there are very helpful.

I hope when I do look at the quarter sessions that there is something about the person I'm looking for, because I have someone who was born illegit, and it was in that short time between bastady cases and civil registration. But I do have his fathers name of his marriage certificate, which is a bonus. %3A-%29
