Hi I just thought i'd add my piece i used to be with NTL and like you accepted a few reverse charge calls from my husband who is in the RAF when he was away in South Africa. My bill that was monthly landed on my doorstep with an almighty thud!! £290 worth. I nearly passed out they told me the bill was correct and maybe i should have rung him as i would have been cheaper. They were highly rude and unhelpful and said as the bill was such a high amount they required it immediately or my phone would be cut off. I paid the bill and then told them to shove their phone line etc where the son doesnt shine and swapped provider Lynda |

Anne, thanks but I already have that and 2 other programmes;; but he had just landed over there, and his mobile wouldn't do roaming because he had not been with the company long enough. So he reversed the charge to let us know why he hadn't been in touch, and to tell us, he had bought another sim and it would take half hour to reach his phone;; Oh the injustice;; I am now nearly ready to phone them;; have bashed some pots and pans about;; but still shaking;; Babs |

I bet you are... think the only thing you can do is put it down to experience and adding it on here warns others.. They should give you time to pay so hope you can take it out on more pots and pans till you calm down... take care...Anne:))) |

Jean, Had a similar problem myself last year with them, after being with them for thirteen years......... They offered free cable for 12 months + all channels free for the first month...........took it up, then got a £150 bill after a month, went bonkers with them, sent off a nasty letter to their head office, never heard a peep out of them. Refused to pay it, they soon contacted me, and I got it cut by half, and got them to remove the TV channels......... So went over to BT with phone, as thats all I had left with NTL, and they were all over me like a rash, offering the earth to stay with them after so many years.............I managed to wangle some money out of them by way of a good will payment.........then went to BT anyway. Hi;; right the lies and lies they tell you;; rang them , they do not set the charge for reverse charge phone calls, they come via BT who set the charge to them, explained I am not leaving this issue there ;; and that I also have BT in my house, came of phone and rang BT, they do not set any charges, the charges all come from NTL, told me to contact off com;; so now off to do this I will keep you informed of the way this goes;; I expected to pay £10-£15 for this call, which would have annoyed me but for this price, no way;; Babs |
