i'm fed up with sending people in my hot match list an email to see if we share a relative and not getting a reply. do you get the same problem and is there anything i can do? amy

I don't think there' s anything you can do. Remember some people put their tree on the site, get impatient at not making contacts and don't come back. Others may be on holiday or their computer may be broken. Hot matches is a great idea, but in practice it just means that every month I have to delete dozens of George Matthews and John Grays from my list. nell

I think the only two outstanding are a couple I sent about a week ago. Maybe I've just been lucky.

Hi Amy. i know how you feel and i think hundreds on here feel the same, you just have to be patient or accept the fact that some folk just dont reply, I had one person who had my personal details and I contacted them about six times and still got nothing back. frustrating isnt it? Kate

I must have been lucky, everyone I have contacted bar a couple has replied. Keep trying, I am sure some people thought I wasn't going tor eply this week but Iw as away for 3 weeks and replied as soon as I got back. Ann glos

I have been very lucky with most of mine...Now have three really good ones, our g.grandfathers were brothers....We found each other on the site...

i'm glad that its not just me who doesnt get replys but i must jus be unlucky then. i have been a member since december last year and have only had a handful reply to me (most saying not related sadly). its just bad manners i think, how hard is it to type yes it is or no its not?

I think I must have been lucky. I found someone who is related via brothers many years ago but also the brothers married two sisters. So we have a connection on more than one side.

Hello Amy I think everyone has that problem. I think the hot matches would be better if they matched the place of birth as well. I get lots of them with the same names, dates of birth but born in the totally wrong place! x karen
