Trifly I dont use FireFox, as someone said, more like people forwarding things such as jokes which will have your email on, others then forward the forwarded message then before you know it, someone receives loads of email addys. Often I receive almost a page full of addys before I get to the joke beneath. before I forward the joke, I delete all the addys first or paste the joke onto a fresh email Elaine x At least by me posting this thread, we all have an idea of what happened. I was quite concerned yesterday when \I received the email Lets all set sail in the same boat lol ! Elaine x

Hi Elaine I received the same email a couple of days ago. I didn't know who it was so I, also deleted it and removed my name from their subscription list. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the fact I had recently downloaded 'Firefox'. Do you use that ? Regards Trifley (Wattle Club) Queensland, Australia

Thats really kind of so called friends isnt it Steve, Now when I send emails I send it via BCC, that means each recipient will only see their name and no one elses email addys. And I never pass anyones email on either. Its all about trust E x

Hi Some of these American sites, if you join require you to give 5 or more email addys so they can invite them to join as well. Happend to me a while back someone with my addy joined a FR kind of site in the states and i got bombed with invites. Steve

Problem solved than Its the same site and same place as many of your emails Someone must have forwarded my email address along with whatever I had sent to them in the first place...then others have used my email address for whatever Elaine x

Elaine, more likely that it isn't malicious but you have just got added via somebody's address book. That is why I always send my e mails individually and don't send in 'groups' etc. Ann Glos

I had one too, a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't connected it with anyone on here, for the simple reason that I don't know enough people on here. I assumed it was generated by a virus & deleted it. My husband has also had one, and as far as I know he's not registered with ANY sites like these, so I assume it came from someone in our circle who's got both of us in their address book - which narrows it down to about 6 people.

sounds like its similar to what happened to a few of us last year with that SMS site - I know I hadn't registered for it but someone used my email addy to join.
