Hi Margaret, My father in law was on these when he was hospitalised. He was elderly (96), and was prrescribed them in hospital for arthritis. They made him extremely confused. When we visited he was almost always asleep. We noticed that when we asked for him not to have them (i.e. Christmas Day), he was much more alert and able to participate in conversations. We suspect that he was given too high a dosage. I expect you have a leaflet with your packet of tablets, if not, look here:- http://www.patient(.)co(.)uk/showdoc/30002834/ Hope you feel better soon Dee x

Hi Margaret I had broken both my ankles last summer and the hospital didn't give me any painkillers so my sister gave me some Tramadol. I was on another planet and they really upset my stomach. I think someone told me they were addictive too. Needless to say I didn't take anymore! Ali x

Dear Margaret, if your still on, I think you should ring the doctor and ask to speak to someone, it is possible to suffer adverse reactions.

i take tramadol margaret and these are the side affects like you have light headed itching (so i take citirizine if needed) sleepy(so i only take one as needed every 4 hours) 2 at bedtime, cos then they make you sleep doctor can give you anti sickness tabs, but this isnt too bad for me, its a problem getting it right isnt it, i was on tramacet before, they got paracetamol in um , but was bad with mixture of anti inflamatorys just read your update cocodamol can also give you the sicky feeling and spaced out cos of the codiene(i think it is ) in them, hope you feel better soon

Have you tried TYLEX? I've had them for ages and they work well on me. (and I'm a BIG woman) They are Co codamol, but the Codiene is double the dose. Very effective. Deanna X
