Hi Linda yes Gestetner there used be a large factory in Tottenham N.15. but got overtaken by new technology i.e. photocopiers, My Ex Fil worked for a firm which produced the cards for computers which had holes punched in them. James

Hi RC, at that age you cannot stand up and fight for yourself or know you have the right to take a subject whether the teacher likes or not. I wish I could spell I seem to have missed that part the dictionary gets a lot of use!!!!. James

I dropped sciences as soon as I could. I think most of what we did was dead boring, but I have enjoyed reading about big bang theory etc since then. nell

I always regretted not takeing WELSH further. I stopped lessons when I was 14 as I hated it because I found it confuseing and prefered French. The law changed so everyone the year below me was forced to continue to take Welsh until they were 16. Maybe one day I'll take it up again as it's an advantage to speak Welsh at home as in many jobs you get payed more,

I never had the opportunity to learn Spanish as I love languages, so I did french instead and have since learnt Spanish myself. Marie

Now days children have so much and do not take full advantage of it, at my schools we had just basic lessons because the technology was not available, but I expect the kids would have still skived off if they could, Its not until later in life you find out what you missed. I have tried to impress on my granddaughters the value of learning foreign languages, because we are in the Common Market. I know we in U.K. are very lucky when we go abroad because in so many countries they speak English as second language. James
