I don't know what it is like now, but when I was a child I would take myself to the NH Museum and the Science Museum at every opportunity. Even in the 1940s they had interactive displays. |

Why not do both Science and Natural History on the same day? They're only just round the corner from each other. My mother used to live about 10 minutes' walk from there, so when my son was young and on school holidays, he'd go and stay with her for a couple of days and visit the museums every year. They're really so much better now than I remember them when I was a child. CB >|< |

My kids love the science museum. They do a map when youfirst enter, this map shows which areas are for kids. And we tend to concentrate on those areas. Great fun with all the button to push etc..... http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/ gallery guide will tell you what is on each floor so you can plan in advance. Also there may be sepcial exhibits on over Easter. Best bit for kids is down in the basement... Launch Pad..... lots to touch down here!!!!!!!! |

I think your children would enjoy science museum but I know they would LOVE the Natural History Museum. Took my sons there when they were 3 and 1 and they have been back many times since! It is very friendly and hands-on nowadays. Lots on dinosaurs, insects, cuddly animals, etc not to mention volcanoes! Check out the websites to get an idea of what is going on there. nell |

Was thinking of taking my 8 year old and 5 year old here in Easter Holidays. Would it be suitable for both - can anyone recommend? Don't think the youngest would enjoy Natural History or British - any opinions would be much appreciated. Best wishes Helen x |
