A couple of years ago where i was working i was talking to a lorry driver one afternoon when a man jumped out of the underneath of his lorry and run.The driver was just as flabergasted as me.My daughter used to live in Lanzarote and every so often there would be a big ship just out to sea and my daughter said that was for the illegal emigrants to get them off there island.Annie |

I was once told a few years ago by a prominent Muslim leader that for every legal immigrant in this country there were three illegal immigrants, and they were all well known in the circles in which they reside, and yet 'unknown' to the authorities. Made me think that did! Jacqui |

Just to put it in context, that's over one in a hundred of the adult population of the UK. Plus something like 300,000 asylum seekers and failed asylum seekers who have not been removed. My worry is that if they get on the roads they are likely to have no driving licence or insurance, as that would put them on an official database and blow their cover. |

Its not just the U.K,Here in Spain its a huge problem, everyday you hear of illegals being found in terrible conditions, I blame the people that encourage these people to try , Im not saying it happens to all of them but some are just after a better life and these people profit on their desperation, I think in some cases its very sad. |

Maybe it is time to have ID cards or something equivalent, most countries have these with an ID Numbrer on. Without an ID Number, its impossible to sign on with a doctor, dentist etc You cant open a Bank account or get a job, in fact there is very little you can do without this number. Certainly makes you think. June xx |

That is, no doubt, why homes are in such short supply. Send the illegals back to where they came from and that will relieve a lot of the pressures we have on our Public Services. |

If its true they should round them up and send them back, pehaps then our NHS wouldnt be in such a mess,to say nothing of housing etc. I,m not being unsympathetic but we are over crowded as it is and its time to say enough is enough. Maddy |

On brekky news Charles Clark (think that's his name!) said it was impossible to say how many there were living in the UK as they were illegal! So it makes me wonder who is telling the truth and if they just make numbers up off the tops of their heads! LOL |

Illegal immigrant figure revealed No past estimates of illegal immigrants have been published Up to 570,000 illegal immigrants are living in the UK, according to a new Home Office estimate. It is the first time the government has put a figure on the number of illegal immigrants, something Tony Blair in the past said was impossible. The Home Office says its best estimate is 430,000 but the number could be between 310,000 and 570,000. The Tories claim the estimate shows an immigration shambles and say it should have been released during the election. |
